No time for gardening!

I've had no time for gardening and my poor beds are looking worse for it. Between work, travel, school and taking care of the house, I've just had no time to get out and take care of the garden. My mom wanted a veggie garden this year but if it's up to me, it won't happen. I just don't have the time. After I get back from the Philippines in April, I hope to get some fresh plants in but they will be ones that can handle some neglect. I won't be finished with school for a while since I plan to go on for my MBA after I finish the BS next year so I'm looking for hardy plants that don't require much TLC.

Another Beautiful Day

Sometimes I wish I could stay home just to get out in the yard and work in the garden. There is something about getting your hands in the dirt, tending to plants, nurturing them and watching them grow. It seems to be in my blood. Perhaps one day I'll get to spend more time gardening but for now, it's usually just a weekend thing.

The daffodils are almost in full bloom. The cold weather didn't hurt them a bit...hardy little things. I can't wait for the other flowers to pop their head out. It is beginning to look like a pretty Spring.

Gorgeous Day

Oh my what a beautiful day. The daffodils are really beginning to show their heads now and lots of other flowers are popping up here and there. I need to see if the watering ban has eased any to see whether or not I can add to the garden beds. My mom wants to plant a veggie garden this year but with school, I don't know where I'll find the time to tend it...we shall see.

I'm reading some of the gardening blogs to figure out which I want to continue to follow that will provide the best info for me, especially here in Georgia.

A few more of my Dad's place...these three are out front.

The Green Thumb Man Himself

Thought I'd post a few pics of my dad and his garden. Now there is a man that knows a thing or two about gardening.

This is his backyard garden last summer. He always has something growing.

Daffodils are blooming!

The daffodils are beginning to bloom! Yeah! I'll get some pics to post as soon as I can. Sure hope to put in replacement plants for those that died the last couple of years. The drought has been hard on us but we have gotten some rain this year so hopefully it's going to be better...woohoo.

Spring is coming...

The daffodils have been up for a while now and the buds are showing on some of the...it won't be long. Hopefully the drought will ease now that we have gotten some rain and I can begin to rebuild the gardens.
